Fireweed Day 4- Ferry Ride

Valdez:

We took a 6-hr ferry from Valdez to Whittier through the Prince William Sound. It cut out tons of time on the return trip, and it was nice to see new scenery instead of having to retrace our path back home. The weather was really cold and drizzly. We got chairs on the sundeck (outside) and huddled in our sleeping bags- the wind was really cold, and it was raining- I called uncle first and pulled my chair under the covered side of the deck, under heat lamps. It was much nicer under there, warm and sheltered from the wind, but still great views. We couldn't see much due to the clouds and darkness, I'm sure the views are much more spectacular on a clear day.

Our Ferry:

On other side of the tunnel from Whittier- of course on this side of the mountain there is warm air and blue skies- sure would have made the ferry better.
